QMUL is one of the four large Colleges of the federal University of London and was ranked 13th out of 200 its recent national research assessment exercise Its School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) has achieved prominence in research and teaching. The in-house capability of the School is currently 60 research active academic staff, 150 research students and 60 Post Doctorate Research Assistants. The School´s current research grant portfolio is £22.6 million.

Relevant project experience:
QMUL is a highly experienced participant, technical manger and coordinator of EU FP5, FP6 and FP7 IST projects. It has coordinated a significant number of advanced distributed system projects with an informatics and distributed AI focus. Current relevant FP7 projects include: GEMOME (resilient messaging middleware), MANMADE (Diagnosing vulnerability, emergent phenomena, and volatility in manmade networks), INEX and DELOS (to evaluate information retrieval methods and model), My-e-Director 2012 (adaptive real-time video streaming). Relevant past EU projects include SAFEGUARD (protecting critical infrastructures) and EDEN-IW (distributed heterogeneous Semantic environment queries monitoring and queries)

Specific role in TRIDEC:
WP3 Architecture Leader with a special focus on Resilience, Performance and Scalability Modelling, architectural and component design, implementation and integration. It will also be strongly involved in knowledge management and modelling issues in WP4.
