TRIDEC will conduct foundational research as well as component and system development. Foundational research will aim at new approaches for the architecture and service integration of crisis management systems with special emphasis on robustness and fault tolerance. Complementary research will focus on new approaches for the design and intelligent retrieval of knowledge-bases comprising among others historic data, prognostic models, and rules. Together with information about the concrete status of the underlying sensor systems this will enable the development of new, effective, and efficient tools for decision-support processes in critical crisis situation with evolving conditions. These activities are carried out in WP3, WP4, and WP5.

The benefits and advantages of TRIDEC for intelligent information management will be validated in two prototypes addressing critical decision processes in natural crisis management and industrial subsurface development. Both fields have a significant scientific, economic, and societal relevance. The work packages WP6 and WP7 are responsible for the concrete development of applications including the adoption of legacy systems but also the implementation of collaborative user interfaces. The work includes the careful preparation of realistic test bed environments.

WP2 and WP8 are work packages responsible for the internal and external project communication. WP2 is dedicated to end-user requirements and scenario definition thus providing the basis for the target-oriented design and development of the application systems. WP8 is focused on the dissemination of project results among others via the project portal and training measures as well as scientific publications and visible conference events.
